Story & Message:
This work came along when I was shooting my Paper Cuts project, focused above all on monochrome, of the color blue in this case. It was shot at a commuter train station in Helsinki, Finland, and takes advantage of its unique design.
When I saw those round windows I immediately thought of 2 things:
1) they reminded me of a portal of some kind, a portal to a parallel world, the world of our imagination
2) the shape, when viewed from the side became oval and became a classic oval portrait frame, perhaps 200 years ago a person could carry a small portrait like that on his or her neck in a locket.
That could be a portrait of someone near and dear.
I thought in this case it might be a portrait or an image of a better self, the one perhaps you're striving to become.
From my project “Geometries of Thought”:
Our brains have evolved to see patterns and work with symbols to save energy and be able to quickly spot danger or food. We see a glimpse of a shape and we immediately associate it with something familiar, constructing a story about it: "That rectangle is a building and I'm not going there". The process is usually fast and unconscious. We rarely second-guess simple everyday life things that we see around us when being focused on something more important. The moment we do start to notice strange and interesting alignments in the geometries around us is exciting. In reality, nothing changes, it's the same rectangle. What's changed is our point of view and therefore our feeling about it. We can now construct a new story, consciously this time, and see familiar things in a new light. The project offers a few unusual perspectives for a mind to play with and make new connections.

Your piece is professionally packaged by a fine-art printing studio with 40 years of experience and shipped by premium delivery services (UPS or DHL). Unframed artworks are shipped wrapped in ink protective archival material, branded gift wrap, and additional bubble wrap in a reinforced cardboard tube. Framed pieces are shipped with plastic or wooden board protection. Your newly acquired artwork will arrive at its new home safe and sound.
